Everyday I probably get tagged in 5-10 sloth images/memes…and So there are many reasons why I absolutely love sloths. They’re Cute, cuddly, slow, chill…all descriptive words for a sloth…also could apply to myself.
I absolutely love it. Keep it coming y’all ?? Their fuzzy bodies make my heart weak! When my friends are out shopping and see something with a sloth I always get sent a picture and sometimes they even surprise me with said sloth themed gifts ? (look what talking about sloths is making me do…I’m using the heart eyes emoji in a blog post!)
I wanted to share some adorable sloth photos I took at my recent sloth encounter. Oh yeah, I got to meet a REAL sloth!! The amazing folks at the Cincinnati Zoo invited me to come hang out with Moe (a two toed sloth) a few Saturdays back. I adopted Moe on national Sloth day for a chance to meet him and I won!! The Cincinnati Zoo runs an amazing A.D.O.P.T. (Animals Depend On People Too) Program. By becoming a Cincinnati Zoo A.D.O.P.T. parent, you help to provide food, toys, and fun enrichment items to the Zoo’s animal family. Check it out HERE!! It really makes a unique Christmas gift for the animal lovers in your life! (Depending on the level you donate you can even get a discount on certain animal encounters!) Moe’s hair was incredible! It was so thick but so ridiculously soft! Did you know their hair grows away from their bodies to help any rain run right off their fur?
This selfie makes my heart happy! If you love sloths like me, or you just love amazing clothing and hats…check out Happy Sloth Co & on Instagram at @happyslothco 10% of net profits goes to conserving and protecting sloths. The sloth population is threatened by deforestation, habitat fragmentation, and human encroachment. Sloths are among the slowest-moving animals on Earth; they can swim but are virtually unable to walk.I hope you enjoyed seeing Moe in action! He was everything I hoped and dreamed. Even though I wasn’t aloud to hold him ? supposedly you have to be a “trained professional”…I guess keeping two humans alive for the past 6 years doesn’t count. Fun fact: sloths carry their babies on them for 2 years! That’s one strong sloth mama. Don’t forget to check out both ways to give back to the animals we love…in the zoo and in the wild.
Go forth and share this post to make someone smile ?
