I’m so excited to share the details around Odie’s Puppy Birthday Party with you today! This theme was so much fun to plan! I found lots of inspo on Pinterest! Odie loves puppies so much so this theme was just perfect! We decided to request our guests skip the gifts and make a donation/or bring items we can drop off to The United Pet Fund (a wonderful, local organization that gives back to local animal shelters) Our sweet dog Colt crossed the rainbow bridge a few months ago, so this was almost like a way to honor him while we celebrate Odie’s love for puppies!
After the past couple years being such a disconnect from friends and family, I was so ready to throw a big bash celebrating our little pandemic baby – who’s not such a baby anymore!
We decided to have our party at a local play cafe – Milk and Beans. It was INCREDIBLE! Milk and Beans is one of my favorite places to take Odie to play while I get some work done. It was so fun to see him share his favorite place with his friends!
Below, I’m sharing a bunch of party details and photos from Odie’s special day! You’ll find everything you need to know about throwing a Puppy Birthday Party of your own!
THE FOOD
I had so much fun planning the “treats” around fun puppy themes.
Fruit Kibble – we actually bought this fruit tray through Milk & Beans! It was so nice to have that already there!
Pupcorn & Barkery “bakery” Pretzels – I bought this dog/cat food bowl from Amazon to serve the snacks it. It was so fun! We used it for our kitties after! They actually love it!
Milk Bones – chocolate chip cookies with vanilla cookie icing! I bought this dog bone shaped cookie cutter. I do recommend cutting the cookies after baking – maybe even making a sheet of cookies and then cutting them out. When I tried before they ended up not looking like bones lol
Pupcakes – I usually splurge on birthday cakes. This year – I wasn’t feeling it! We did 30 cupcakes from Sams Club and it was the best idea ever! Everyone loved them and it was so affordable and easy! I was able to budget more into the decor and activities this way. These are the cute puppy candles I found!
We had these puppy plates and napkins to match as well!
THE ACTIVITES
Puppy Adoption – This was so fun and doubled as a thank you gift! Seeing the kiddos love on their new little puppies made my day! My oldest loved helping the littles fill out their adoption certificates and pick their puppy. I found this bulk set of puppies. They fit perfect in these brown bags from Target. I cut a square out from the side to make it look like a little puppy carrier. Perfect for a Puppy Birthday Party!

Puppy Dress Up – These puppy ears were a last minute purchase and I AM SO GLAD I GOT THEM! The quality exceeded my expectations. Parents and kiddos loved them!
THE DECOR
Balloon Garland – Milk & Beans created the garland off of my inspo! It was so perfect!
Highchair Accessories – Yeah Baby Goods makes the best accessories for the $25 Ikea Highchair! There’s so many ways you can customize your highchair to match any birthday party theme!
Highchair Banner – This was a last minute Target find! The puppies are too cute with their party hats!
Let’s Pawty Balloons – This was a find from Meijer. But you can totally find on Amazon or Target.
Puppy Balloons – Another great target find! These were great quality and so cute with the Let’s Pawty balloons!
THE LOCATION
Milk and Beans made the perfect party location! If you’re in Cincinnati or NKY – highly recommend! They take so much weight off of your shoulders when it comes to party planning. I truly felt like I had the energy to do the fun extra things knowing I had so much of their support! Even at 14 weeks pregnant, I left the party feeling so much joy and no exhaustion! Usually when we host birthday parties by the end my husband and I are soooo tired – even the next day is used to recoup! This was not the case! The kiddos could play while us adults got to catch up. There is even a play attendant helping watch after the kiddos. One of my favorite things was the party was so relaxed. Unlike most parties outside of the home, there’s no moving room to room or “5 more minutes here and then we will do cake” That was so nice to enjoy our company without bouncing around!
I can’t even believe our sweet Odie is two! It feels like yesterday he was born.
We are so excited to welcome our sweet baby girl this spring. Stay tuned for more fun pregnancy/mom to be content!
